One of the things I never even thought about before I got pregnant was how it would affect my travel. I usually love traveling in the spring because seeing a city when the flowers and trees start blooming is heavenly. My doctor told me that I should get all my spring travel in before mid-March (no Cherry Blossom season in Japan this year) so I need to make the most of a limited travel window. Thankfully Expedia is having their Spring Savings Event right now (it ends March 1) so it’s the perfect time to book a Spring getaway!!
I’ve been brainstorming ideas for our babymoon. There are 4 things I’m looking for in a dream destination:
- A walkable city so I can keep up with my walking
- Restaurants and hotels that can accommodate my weird pregnancy cravings (hopefully with world-class donuts)
- 5-Star accommodations where I can be pampered
- A place that feels memorable for our last trip before becoming parents
One of the first places that popped into my head was Palm Beach. The shades of pink and the luxurious charm of Worth Ave. make the perfect backdrop for photos. But since David and I go there so often, it doesn’t feel like it would be special enough for our Baby moon.
What place has all those things and would be extra special? Charleston!!! Charleston is one of my favorite cities – it’s southern charm, classic architecture and vibrant colors are perfect for photos. It has so many amazing restaurants and charming hotels. Plus, it has some fabulous walking tours so I can keep up with my daily walks!! Basically, Charleston is a special place to me where David hasn’t spent much time so getting to show it to him will be extra memorable. I suggested Charleston to David and he couldn’t have been more excited. He’s super pumped to explore Charleston and I can’t wait to show him around.
There are a couple of different hotels I love in Charleston but since I’m so pregnant a hotel where I know I’ll be pampered is high on the list. One of the best things is with the Expedia Spring sale, there are a bunch of hotels that fit the bill offering up to 40% off during the sale and #LTKexpedia is offering an additional 10% off.
One more thing…I just found out that you can book activities through Expedia which I never knew. One of the things you have to do if you’re in Charleston is a carriage tour through the city and as I was browsing activities I stumbled on this food-centric walking tour and thought it would be perfect for my #Walk4Eats !!
If you’re as excited as I am about your springtime getaway, I’d love to hear about it!! Of course, you know I’m counting down the days until I can share my favorite photos and stories from Charleston with you on Instagram.
